Fund II and III Investment Committee Member David is currently the Chairman of Enerfab, Inc., a world-leading supplier of engineering solutions serving the energy, environmental, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries. Under David’s leadership, Enerfab has grown from approximately 150 employees in 1988, to over 3,000 employees today. David is also the Executive Chairman of West Chester Protective Gear which is the largest importer of industrial work gloves in the United States. Through his professional achievements, David has been the recipient of accolades such as Ernst & Young’s Regional Entrepreneur of the Year Award (1996 & 2008), Inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Thomas C. Page Entrepreneurial Center at Miami University (2003), and a recipient of the University of Cincinnati’s Legion of Excellence award (2010). David currently serves many non-profit organizations such as Child Poverty Collaborative, Cincinnati Works, Cincinnati Regional Business Council, Talbert House, and Workforce Development UCATS Institute. Through his philanthropic involvement in these organizations and many more, David was the recipient of the 2017 Heart of the City award and named the 2018 Philanthropist of the Year in Cincinnati, Ohio. SUSAN L. KNUST
Fund II and III Investment Committee Member Susan is a career-long entrepreneur which started in 1983 when she became President and majority owner of Precision Packaging and Services based in Monroe, Ohio. Precision Packaging and Services became an industry leader in the consumer packaging and bottling segment which was trusted by the top consumer brands such as Procter & Gamble, Dial, and The Clorox Company. Under her ownership and leadership, Susan grew the company to over $50 million in revenue and 300 employees. The company was sold to a strategic buyer in 2000. Since 2000, Susan has been an active private investor in many different segments which includes warehousing, real estate and other public and private investments. Since 2005, Susan has served on the Board of Directors of First Financial Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, she has served as Chair of the Executive Compensation Committee, and as a member of the Corporate Governance Committee. In addition to her investment activities, Susan serves on many non-profit Boards and committees for organizations such as United Way in Fort Myers, Florida and The Legacy Board, an endeavor to serve “At Risk” kids in Fort Myers, Florida. CHRIS MEYER
Fund III Investment Committee Member Chris was the Owner and CEO of Mintek Resources, Inc., a distribution company that sells calcium-based materials into the construction, environmental, manufacturing, oil & gas, and agricultural industries throughout the Eastern half of the United States. Since acquiring the company in 2006, he grew revenue from $6 million to over $70 million. He sold the business in 2018 to Carmeuse Lime & Stone, headquartered in Belgium and the 2nd largest lime producer in the world. Chris recently exited the business at the end of 2021 after successfully integrating the companies and developing Mintek’s new Leadership Team. Prior to owning Mintek, Chris worked several years at Ernst &Young, LLP focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions and annual audits on public and private entities in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, and construction industries. Outside of Chris’s business activities, Chris has been an active private investor since 2010 in a variety of segments ranging from angel investing, real estate, mezzanine debt, and public investments. In addition, Chris has served on Aileron’s Client Advisory Council, which concentrated on rolling out new training programs to help small businesses grow quicker and smarter through implementing professional management strategies. He is also an active member in the Cincinnati chapter of YPO. In his free time, Chris focuses on family and three kids who are very active on various sports teams. Back

Since 2008, David has been personally involved in investing in lower middle market businesses. David took a hands-on approach in all investments, including specifically the areas of finance and operations. David has served on the Board of all of holdings. Prior to BMC, David left a Big 4 Accounting Firm to found Brixey & Meyer, Inc. which is now a Regional Accounting Firm in the Ohio Valley with 100 employees in three cities. Brixey & Meyer was recently referred to as the fastest growing first generation accounting firm in the country by Inside Public Accounting. Co-Founding BMC, David developed the investment thesis to focus on growing platform businesses in the lower middle market where substantial value can be built utilizing the skill set and experience of the BMC team.
