DAYTON and CINCINNATI, Ohio, March 11, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Brixey & Meyer Capital (“BMC”) announced today it has acquired Gateway Distribution (“Gateway”).  Gateway is a niche LTL carrier, consolidator, and distributor of specialty cargo with a focus on light poles, flag poles, and other similar products.  Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, with additional locations in Newburgh NY and Wytheville, VA, Gateway serves its customer base across the country with a 99.8% claim free record.

Gateway was founded in 1989 by Wayne Carucci with a single truck. Since its founding, Wayne and his family have grown the business to over 50 trucks serving the continental United States. Benny Kenner and his management team will continue to lead the business out of its headquarters in Cincinnati, OH.

Gateway is BMC’s second acquisition in the transportation segment. In January 2019, BMC acquired CityDash, a regional niche time-sensitive transportation and logistics company also based in Cincinnati, OH.

Gateway is the fourth acquisition of BMC’s second fund, the BMC Growth Fund II. The BMC Growth Fund II is a $40.0 million fund launched in mid-2018 which invests in lower middle-market companies generating $1.0 to $5.0 million of cash flow.
